Luxury furniture retail operates across two distinct audiences with different expectations: trade buyers who need product specifications, lead times, and volume pricing; and retail consumers who need to be convinced that a piece is worth its price before they ever visit a showroom. A single theme system needs to serve both — without compromising the visual standard that either audience demands.
B2B and Retail in One Architecture
The theme implements a gated trade account system built on WooCommerce user roles. Authenticated trade accounts see wholesale pricing, download specification sheets, access lead-time data, and submit trade orders through a dedicated checkout flow. Retail visitors experience the full editorial product presentation without seeing trade-specific pricing or functionality. The same product data powers both views — no duplication, no synchronisation overhead.
Visual Architecture
Luxury furniture photography is large, detailed, and the primary conversion signal. The design system is built around it: generous whitespace, restrained typography, and a layout architecture that gives room-scene imagery the space it requires without compromising page performance. All product images use a structured lazy-load strategy with explicit dimensions and low-quality placeholders — maintaining Core Web Vitals scores despite image-heavy pages.
