Generic WordPress themes are not built for the medical domain. They lack clinical content structures, they produce shallow or absent structured data, and they offer no pathway to E-E-A-T authority in medical search. Iatrics was written from scratch to solve exactly that.
Why Iatrics Exists
Medical professionals face a compounded digital challenge: they need to rank for high-intent clinical queries while simultaneously conveying the trust level that patients and referring surgeons demand. Most themes treat accessibility and SEO as afterthoughts. Iatrics treats them as load-bearing walls.
The result is a complete production platform: custom post types for procedures, team members, and research; four Schema.org medical entity types in clean JSON-LD; a PSR-4 class architecture under its own namespace; and a bespoke 16-stylesheet design system optimised for clinical audiences.
Clinical Content Architecture
The Surgery post type gives medical practices a managed content system for every procedure they perform — each indexable, Schema-marked, and navigable via the Anatomy taxonomy (body-region navigation). The Academic post type outputs MedicalScholarlyArticle structured data, connecting publications directly to the Physician entity in the Knowledge Graph.
The Technical Result
Iatrics consistently achieves Lighthouse scores of 98–100. Its Schema output passes all Google Rich Results validation tests. The PSR-4 architecture means extending the theme for a specific practice’s requirements is a disciplined, low-risk process — not a hack into procedural legacy code.
Version 2.2.0 is the current release. Tested against WordPress 6.7 and PHP 8.0+.
